Haydust Town is a small town where the player is first brought by Professor Wormwood after waking up in the nearby Genisis Forest. It contains Wormwood's Lab, where the player receives their starter Pokémon. Starting in version 3.0, different game modes, challenge options and starter Pokémon can be set using Wormwood's Computer. The player's rivals, Lucy and Teal, also live in this town. In a standard game, the player can choose from three regional forms of the Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, the Cactus Rock Pokémon, Charmander, the Flare Lizard Pokémon, or Squirtle, the Rain Cloud Pokémon.
